I remember liking this song from hearing it on the radio when I was a kid. When I was a little bit older of a kid I discovered Flo and Eddie from a Zappa album singing this song. CB did a little research and found out that Flo and Eddie (Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman) were in the Turtles.
Like I said I always liked the song. It’s a catchy tune. Howard Kaylan has a nice voice and it fits. Every time I hear it it puts me in a good mood. After seeing Flo and Eddie perform the song it took on a different vibe for CB. It still worked. They made it fun. It’s one of those songs that has stuck with me for a long time. I still dig it. I went on a Flo and Eddie kick. Good memories.
So come on everybody. get up and sing “Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba …”
“So happy together / How is the weather” – Beautiful song from 1967!

Yeah, that’s my I did a take on it. ‘Elenore’ is not to far behind. I followed Flo and Eddie for a long time.

Mr. Babyhead, nice choice. I like how you didn’t worry about whether this song was ‘cool’ or not, just went for it. I always liked the Turtles. ‘She’d Rather Be With Me’ is another good one. I have their Greatest Hits in my vinyl pile somewhere.

“Doc …… I mean Elenore I really think you’re groovy..” “What ? Me worry?”. Pulling out all the gems. Alfred E. Newman. A CB hero.

BTW, forgot to mention that for some years there has been a ‘Happy Together’ tour (which could just as easily be called the Baby Boomer Nostalgia Tour.) Coming to a theater near you are: Turtles, Chuck Negron (of Three Dog Night), Gary Puckett and the Union Gap (another early fave of mine), The Association, Mark Lindsay (of Paul Revere and the Raiders) and of course, doubtless CB’s favorite, The Cowsills.

I always thought it was funny that te Turtles (Flo and Eddie) were mixed up in that group. Musically I could get it but stage antics etc….? Lets hook up and go.
Funny you mention the Cowsills. Billy Cowsill lived in Vancouver and was a regular in the clubs. Good stuff kinda country alternative. And I have Susan on a few discs also.

Funny too. They spent a lot a time up in Canada at one time. Funny and entertaining guys.

Oh man, I love that tune! The melody and the singing are just fantastic. In fact, pretty much every time I listen to it, I end up chiming in – probably less than happy for those who witness my attempts at singing!

Every time I hear Happy Together I think of the movie Bubble Boy. Can’t remember if the song is even in the movie but that’s my first thought. I’ll be looking forward to your comment on James Gang
