Well folks it’s time for CB to take his rod and go on a little extended fishin trip. I have enjoyed sharing some of the music and films I like. I think you get a pretty good idea on what I dig. I would just be repeating myself with more of my bullshit on these two pastimes that I love. Music and film have given me years of enjoyment and I plan to continue down that path. There are a few other things I like to do but basically I’m a pretty boring, happy guy.
I plan to peek in on all you folks now and then just to keep you honest and also to pick up some of that great music that you have all turned me onto. Plus you are entertaining in your own way. You never know I might pop up with a few takes here and there but right now I’m getting my line in the water. I’ll leave you with a few songs on my way. So take it cool. Later and thanks for your time and interest. CB
CB loves his fishin songs just as much as train songs. Puts me in a good mood. Makes me think of Huck Finn. Any suggestions out there?
Can’t think of a better way to go fishin than with J J Cale and ‘The Old Man’
Here’s Dr John with a killer. Catch that groove with a tasty guitar lick while you’re sitting on the bank watching the river flow by. Maybe a smoke, a little drink and no one to bother me.
Elvin Bishop does one of my all tome favorite fishin songs, hell one of my favorite songs period. “I’m goin fish fish, fish fish fishin, hook sinker and line”. Some great fiddle work in this one. Takes his pole and jug. I’m with ya Elvin.
I’ll end with one of my favorite people and musicians, John Prine. He brings up fishing in a few of his songs but this one hits the spot. I hear people talk about famous people they would like to spend time with. That’s easy for me, hangin and fishin with John would be a good day anytime.
It’s all about rock n roll for CB so we have to end it with Jerry Lee Lewis. He ran out of songs to do so he pulled out this gem. Get em Killer
Goodbye, Old Cincinnati. ‘Til it be morrow.

It’s sad but totally understandable that CB would need a break from the 400 (or so) words he writes every week. He must be exhausted! Well, I must say I’ve enjoyed all the music and the B westerns. And as CB starts his long, slow slide into oblivion, the Doc salutes him and invites him to go kick some Canadian trucker butt. The ME door is always open should he decide to visit periodically and listen to the Doc’s incoherent old man ramblings.

You know I’ll be around for those “ramblings”. I’ll let you do the heavy lifting.
Movie note. Watched an old one (of course I did) last night. ‘Electra Glide in Blue’ End credits popped up and a few names struck a chord. They were members of Chicago. If it wasn’t for you I never would have twigged. I did some Doc research to find that fact.

Yup. Blake. I think Chicago did the soundtrack or some of it. I like the film. 70s all over it.

Can’t beat that. Although that said, some of the 70s films have cheesy soundtracks and somewhat dated direction. I was watching ‘Klute’ not too long ago and noticed that.

Oh dude…I understand it…cause the day is coming for me… but I don’t have to like it. But I hope CB catches some big ones. As that old cowboy once said… Happy Trails Until We Meet Again. Don’t be a stranger because
I’ll need more rogue cop movies and roots music.

Ill be popping into catch some of that great music you feature plus have a few words with ya.
Just watched an old one last night. ‘Electra Glide and Blue’ One of the two real good films Robert Blake made. I think you’d like it. A slice of the 70s plus some great cinematography an bunch of those character actors we both love.
“Roots Music” Ive been stuck in a J J Cale loop. I was thinking of you when I posted that cut. It’s just Cale and his bass guy keeping it simple and real. Later buddy.

I have that movie and love it. Jeannine Riley is why I got that one at first of all people. She wasn’t a Bradley sister in this one. I like the feel of that movie a lot.
I like the Cale song. It’s like… come in plug in and lets play…and everything works.
Talk to you soon dude!

Perfect on the “come in plug in and lets play”. That simple.
Yeah Riley kinda went against type. I found out later that she did that show. She was good in ‘Glide’

Everyone that blogs eventually needs a break. Don’t stay away too long now. Come down to Texas and fish in the gulf, great fishing and beaches. We also have great Bass fishing in our lakes.

We’ll grab Sam The Lion to go along with us. I’ll be keeping an eye on you Phil. I never know what’s going to pop out of the Cactus Patch. Something prickly.

Man, CB, that’s quite some news there! I hope your decision isn’t driven by any curveballs life can throw at you – not that it would be any of my business, of course. Just hoping all is well!
I also hope you won’t become a stranger. Should fishing ever get boring, perhaps you reconsider and come back to blogging. In the meantime, I’d like to wish you all the best. Stay well!

Everything is cool just like I said in the take. Thanks Christian. It’s been good to get to know people like yourself. I plan to keep popping in to catch your takes. You’re on a pretty good roll. Just getting stronger. Maybe we could do a co-production down the line. Tale care and keep waving the flag for all that great music you listen to. Adios.

You have been one of my go to stops for so many reasons. Lots of good back and forth and Ive picked up some great music along the way from the Vinyl guy. I will continue to drop in just to make sure you’re behaving yourself because you are a bit of a rascal. Later Bruce.
