I really like hard rock and this music fits the bill. I’m a fan of both Rage and Soundgarden. It has a Rage feel right from the opening cut with the helicopter/machine gun sound and then they jump into it full bore. CC’s vocals fill out this hybrid/collaboration. I have no idea how they were received but I know that my ear liked it. The second cut gets in a good groove. Love the duo of Wilk and Commerford. One of my favorites. They lay it down throughout. They set the table for Morello and Cornell.

This is hard aggressive music. ‘Gasoline’ continues in that vein. Lots of punch. It takes me back to when I first heard Cream, Zeppelin, Jeff Beck. Loud and good. Cornell’s vocals works with these guys. He’s up there with a couple other gravel voiced singers I like. Joe Cocker and Roger Chapman. This cut cooks. They might take it down once in a while but they don’t stay there long. I dig TM’s noodling around sound throughout the record. I like his playing..

I get a hankering for this kind of music and Audioslave takes care of the craving. I can hear Hendrix/Cream in ‘Shadow Of The Sun’. There’s 14 cuts on this album and I like them all. I have no idea how these guys got together. Don’t know a lot of history of the two bands they came from other that I really dig their  music. This album is relentless in its delivery but that’s why I like it. The package works for me. Lots of highlights for me on this record. They take it down to a nice bluesy feel on ‘Getaway Car’. Nice work by Morello on this one. Plus it’s one of those car tunes I like.

This album grabbed me. It was just an extension of the music I was exposed to as a young lad.  Maybe I should grow up? Not going to happen. Just the way I’m wired. I don’t know what was popular when this came out but it doesn’t matter, CB’s about as trendy as an outhouse. Like I’ve said before, most music chooses me. That was the case with this record. Still sounds good when I spin it. It scratches the hard rock itch.

Great stuff. I hate they only did 3 studio albums as I liked them a lot. The Rage band with Cornell on vocals was a perfect match. If I couldn’t get music from either of their original bands, I would take this any day of the week.

Great album still in 2021. Cornell hammers it down with some Rage and the end result is brilliance!

Wasn’t expecting this, CB! I was listening to this yesterday. You’re right – still sounds good. For me, it’s the best album by a band that I really should have liked more than I did.

A lot of good stuff on the record J. Cornell’s vocal certainly add a punch but the instrumental backing is killer also. Sometimes vocals f up this kind of music for me but Cornell’s voice fits the bill.

Aye, Cornell’s voice was really quite something. I thought he sounded great on here and Soundgarden’s King Animal. Easily some of his best vocals.

I’m not even entirely certain I’ve heard this one the whole way through. I went off on a jazz tangent while all this stuff was happening. I should get off my keister.

Good one CB. You don’t get rock like that on every corner today. But Morello’s monotonous antics on the effect board and the iron pressed sound makes the album quite monotonous in the long run for me.

I can see how TM’s doodling could rub folks.. My ear doesnt seem to mind it. It goes with the rest of the music. It sure would be a different sound with a more traditional guitar take. Interesting.

For me it’s a mix of sturdy rock songs managed to be nuanced enough to not sound exactly the same. And Chris Cornell’s voice is pretty good. Sadly he’s not here anymore.

Few singers had the raw, beast-like vocal power and range of Chris Cornell.

About choices where to lend our ears. Impossible to keep up with all the music out there. So much good stuff that I’m late to the party and some I just dont put the time into.

Of the three albums they made together this is by far the strongest and the one that gets a regular spin in my car – it’s just fucking magic made for playing loud. Everything clicking together perfectly and all at the top of their game.

Guess who finally got around to listening to this? I said before that I heard them on the radio and liked what I heard. This is the album1 Those first two cuts – industrial-strength rock and roll. Bands like this, Pearl Jam and some of the metal bands are like Zep and Sabbath on steroids. They’re like a fucking pile-driving machine. I was driving around listening to this. You know it’s good when you feel like you’ve been pummeled but in a good way.

I need a dose of this regularly. No foot of the throttle on this one Doc. I hear ya loud and clear. It might be noise to a lot of folks but it’s beautiful noise to me. These guys can play this stuff.
People must of been wondering what that older dude was doing in that car blasting Audi Slave . Very cool. And you have the perfect sound system for it.
