Music Single : Asleep At The Wheel – Route 66

I’ve been listening to Ray Benson and The Wheel for many moons. Many versions of this song are out there but this band does the one that gets me the most. You want to swing and boogie woogie? Ray and the band know a thing or two about a thing or two. Great vocals, chemistry, musicianship and just a sense of having a good time playing music. Give me that fiddle every time. Nothin pushed or over the top just some very cool music by a cool bunch of musicians that make it look easy and sound so damn good. CB always likes more than one vocalist in a band, I get three here. Elizabeth McQueen tops it off. Man does she send me.

I picked this live version just because that’s what Asleep at The Wheel does best, play live. If Ray (A national treasure) and the gang ever swing by your place, catch them quick. It doesn’t matter if you’re a metal-head, a jazz fiend, blues monster etc. you will be a convert because people are just so friendly and they love to swing and shake a leg at their shows, Get ready to sweat and have too much fun. Some great music by some great people that know their stuff. They should they’ve been doing it for a long time.
