Movie : Snap Review – Rocknrolla

Couple of mid level criminals go to a local mobster to help them with a deal they’re working on. The mobster fucks them in the deal because “They need a little lesson” . Lenny the mobster is working on his own deal with a Russian bad ass so he had no time to be Mr Nice guy. Not that he’s even close to being a “nice guy”. We follow our two heroes and their other buddy as they get involved in Lenny’s business using inside information to rip him off. This is just one of the threads of many that have a bunch of criminals double dealing, stealing and chasing each other around trying to get rich and be the top dog. It’s a wild ride and you have to be on your toes to keep up.

An English crime/gangster movie with the usual violence that goes with the life style. No good guys but lots of criminals, dumb bastards, good music, editing, direction, characters, performances, writing and  humor. CB loved Ritchie’s style. He has lots of story lines going on and manages to keep the shit storm together and making sense. Lots of laugh out louds. It comes across to CB like an Elmore Leonard book with an English twist.

Black humor with twists and turns that kept CB engaged and entertained. Good flick. Did I say it has a really good soundtrack?
