CB comes from a long line of car guys so when I first heard this song it was a no brainer. I loved it. This is a Charlie Ryan song revamped by Commander Cody. I like a good story and I get one here along with a great tune with some great playing. Love the guitar licks, pretty sure it’s Bill Kirchen. Lots of images and fun on this one. My friends and I used to go nuts for this song.
I seen Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen and it was crazy night of good music and fun. When they pulled out this tune the place went nuts! A memorable night with lots of country boogie and rock n roll Commander style.
But just remember two things, you can never have too much fun and the other thing is what my dad said to me “You’re gonna drive me to drinkn’ if you don’t stop drivin’ that Hot Rod Lincoln”.
(Les Claypool does a killer version)

I’d never heard this. I love the single’s cover too.

CC and the boys used to indulged in bit of the weed. They were a fun band that played some good music. Maybe leaning to much into the country for 1537. I’m still working on you even though from some of your tastes you have some twang in ya!

I do own a Johnny Cash T-shirt, does that count?
I also love The Willard Grant Conspiracy, do you know their stuff at all? really cool stuff.

Cash T-shirt? You are already on your way. No on the ‘Willard’ thing but because of your track record I am now curious. Anything with ‘Willard’ in it I’m all ears.

Cool. I will give this a blast later. Just out the door to do a little yard work at daughter Falda’s place. That’s “Princess Falda”

OK, I had to listen to a bit. You are a certified half in the closet “Shit kicker”. That sounds real good back to it later.

Why haven’t I ever heard this piece of countryfried awesomeness? I’m gonna have to go on search of more Commander Cody!
… and Mr Lego Face is definitely a man with some twang in him. Willard Grant Conspiracy fan, too? Oooft… you bet he is!

Sure, great tune. Always dug it. Never saw that cover. It’s a great one. If we had any car guys in the family, that ended prior to me. Don’t get me wrong – I’d love to own some sort of sports car. But I’m not really a car guy per se and I am zero mechanically inclined.

You know that cartoon style. If I look at one of my old albums I’d find out who did the art work but CB is lazy. Has that Crumb look.
I had an old 66 442 (still have it) No mechanical bones in my body just drive the shit out of them. When I first seen Springsteen, he asked the audience if there were any car guys in the audience. CB and two other guys put up our hands.

Great tune CB did a post some time back about this classic. My favorite “Cody” tune.

I seen that in your archives. I’m going to bracket some time and go back into your vaults and see what treasures you have stashed away.
