Music Single : Baby Workout – Jackie Wilson

download (45)

Like some one said “When Jackie Wilson smiles I’m in heaven”.  Yeah and when he sings this song also.  There are special talents and Jackie was one.  CB couldn’t resist this one. It’s another one of those press the repeat button songs.  This one just makes you feel good.

Watch the clip below to get an idea what he was all about.  He pretty well drives everybody crazy with his performance.  CB is going to jump up and join in and do the swim.  Jackie Wilson was a treasure.

Genuinely brilliant. Look at the sheer joy around the 1:15 mark. Magic.

Some crazy choreography there. Jackie has one, maybe two places on my top 150 oldies. Inimitable.

Nice tune and what a hell of a performer Jackie Wilson was!

I think I pretty much only knew “Reet Petite,” which re-emerged in the mid-80s and became a hit, after it had been reissued.

BTW, based on Wikipedia‘s write-up, Wilson had a quite dramatic and sadly short life. Not sure whether this already has been done, but it surely would make for a compelling movie!

Yeah a lot of those guys had the rough life. Someone will probably try to make a flick if there’s money to be made. A good doc would suit me. I know a little about Jackie. He was a boxer If I remember right. But man does his voice and presence do it for me. You’ve heard Van Morrisons nod to him?

“Jackie Wilson Said?” Nice, just listened to it! The tune’s beginning sounded familiar. Somewhere I have a Van Morrison “Greatest Hits” sampler on CD. Maybe it’s on there.

I wish I’d grown up at a time when they had proper dances like the swim, or the watusi.

Yes, when dancing was more dignified. Hey, never too late. Jump out on the dance floor and do the boogaloo. You could start a trend. 😁 Hell, my millennial daughter and her friends go to vintage dances from the Twenties and Forties.

I used to go to this bar and a guy in a wheelchair would tear up the dance floor. He had the moves.
