Single : Brand New Cadillac – The Clash

How’s this for a great rock n roll tune?  Just the way CB likes them.  Greasy.  The Clash are feeling it on this one.  Two minutes of raw rock n roll.  These guys could do it and they did it on this one.  Striped down to the basics.  Great beat, Mick Jones kills it on guitar and Joe Strummer singing it like you’re supposed too.  This guitar intro and then explode into greatness and rides it out to the end.  Man is this good!

CB likes his rock n roll straight up and this is straight up.  Plus he likes songs about cars.  I’ll take a double on this one!  Where’s the dance floor?!!!!  I gotta move!!

(Check out the Vince Taylor original.  It cooks also)

Great. Especially the bass, probably based on the “Peter Gunn” theme. A highlight on “London Calling”.

When it comes down to it, it’s all about rock n roll. Probably why these guys started and band and why CB started getting into music.

The trick the Clash played was that they were punks who were actual musicians

Yeah Hotfox pointed me to it. Love that kind os stuff. The original guys that never got much notice. Usually you find they were so hard to handle or just exploded or got screwed and just walked away. I’m more interested in these lost guys than i am about another documentary on a band that’s been done to death.
