CB Goes For The Fuel

First feature of our last Drive In for the summer is ‘The Road Warrior’.  Take a trip into the Wastelands and join Max for a violent, cinematic ride.  It’s all about the “Gasoline”.  CB was leafing through a magazine (Fangora) back in the day and seen a small blurb and pic of this movie that was coming out of Australia.  That was all it took.

The film is short and sweet.  Lots of action, stunts, cool tricked out vehicles, simple story, great hero (Mel is good in this one) and a smorg of fantastic bad guys.  Simply told with great cinematography.  You feel the time and the environment.  The wack job (Vernon Wells) with the Mohawk is a hall of famer.   He is good.  Lots of great characters. There’s a pretty cool dog in it also.  Lots to like in this film for a film lover like CB.  My main Gal liked it too.  She has a bit of a violent streak.

A classic drive in flick.  A good re visit if you’re looking for a movie to watch.

Grab your jerry can and take a ride with Max to get some fuel.

I still think we’re only 8 years away from this future!

Lots of good films from Australia (just watched ‘Wake in Fright’ recently) but I won’t argue with you. Great flick.

Mad Max 2 is one of the few sequels I can think of that is even better then the original. It definitely benefits from a bigger budget and its setting in an even bleaker post apocalyptic world. This film is like a well-oiled machine, and after all these years, it still gives me chills.

This film just blew out of that “bleak post apocalyptic world” and took me with it. Great flick. Yeah it’s a re-watcher for sure.
