This was off the first Bob Seger album I bought. What can I say it’s just a great piece of rock n roll. Thought it would go with ‘Boz, Duane and Muscle Shoals’. Bob recorded down at Muscle Shoals but not this tune. I had a buddy who turned me onto Seger. It’s just straight ahead, no frills rock n roll. This is the sort of stuff CB was listening to in his formative years and it kind of set the tone. This was before Bob hit the big-time but you had the feeling people were going to catch onto his sound. Bob delivers on this one, just over 2 and half minutes no bullshit, honest rock music.
“Get out of Denver baby, go go..”

I was lucky enough to see Dave Edmunds do this song a long time ago. I happened to be living in Denver at the time and was soon leaving for California so when he played this tune it really hit home for me.

Good tune. I haven’t written anything about Seger yet but he’s a worthy topic. Someday down the road.

He sure is ” worthy” Doc. Bob has been doing it for a long time. I’m sure you would have some good insights on him.

The real early stuff stuck with me. ‘Ramblin Gamblin Man’. ‘School Teacher’. That is some good stuff. I don’t take Bob for granted. He is forever in my playlist.

You just can’t have a good playlist with some Bob on it

You ever see the movie Things To Do In Denver (When You’re Dead)? Great use of this tune. Kooky movie. Widely under appreciated

Great flick. I remember so many scenes . Time for a rewatch. Just talking about this a while ago with one of our fellow travelers. The scene where Walken ask one of his men to pull out his johnson so he can have a piss. The look on the guys face is priceless. He didn’t figure it was part of his job.
