CB Takes Another Trip Into the Future

images (59)

I had so much fun last time I did it again and this time I run into a new(er) Steve Earle recording.  All I can say is this is some good shit.  This time with the help of Hotfox63 the work is done for CB.  There is a eclectic mix of great music/photos on Hotfox63’s station and I really like tuning in.  Fox features some of CB’s favorite musicians that usually don’t get a lot of ink.   Have a look at the take below on Earle & the Dukes, ‘Terraplane’.  Earle just keeps making great music and this featured album proves that to me. The two featured cuts will set the hook.  Another fruitful sojourn into the future.   Some more listening for my ears.  Thanks for the lead Fox and keep this stuff coming!

    Steve’s the man!

CB, the first time (or one of the first times) I saw Steve in concert was at the Chestnut Cabaret in Philly. He was with his band the Dukes. They played so loud it was unbelievable. It hurt my ears like crazy. One of the loudest shows I’ve ever been to.
I don’t know how I still have my hearing.

    See ya’

Seen him in various styles. Yeah he can get loud. Had tickets a few years ago but that goddamn work got in the way. My Gal had to go solo. The Del McCoury Band collaboration is a good one. I don’t think he has a weak album. Consistently high level stuff. If you get a chance Neil, give the tunes Fox posted a listen. Yup, see ya’ (Loudest concert(s) Bruce and The Who)

Pretty cool dude! By the way, did you know he recently came out with a new album? It’s called “So Wannabe an Outlaw.” Just started listening to it. This one seems to be a country rock album. Sounds great so far!

I’m going to get to that “Wannabe’ after I listen to this for a while. Thanks. I listened to his album he did with the Del McMoury Band today. He covers a lot of genres.

“Swampy” is a perfect description. It always amazes me on all the good musicians out there. Earle pulls together some good players. Plus he swings in all those “Americana ” styles.

Another guy that a lot of people like but that has not been quite on my radar. Was he the guy we were watching doing that Gregg Allman tribute with Gordon Lightfoot sitting there? I watch/listen to so much stuff I lose track.

Yup. I’ve spent a lot of listening years with guys like Steve. Their music really grabs me. I think you have a feel for what I rally like. I’m pretty open minded but this stuff is in that Band, CCR, Bruce, Country, blues, rock…. you know what I mean. It’s close to the source. I’m here to keep you on track Doc. (And vice versa)
