CB Where Art Thou?

First up at the drive in is ‘O Brother Where Art Thou?’ CB just revisited this a couple nights ago.  He liked it the first time around and probably liked it even more this time.  It’s a throw back to the old road movies.

I was along for the ride right from the start.  So many good bits and laughs.  The sense of time and place, performances, music, sense of humor.  From the “singing into the can” to picking up Tommy Johnson after he made the “deal with the devil”.  I got some good laughs out of this one.   There is a whole herd of dumb – shits in this story. The best line I’ve heard for a while was Delmar’s ‘We thought you was a toad”.  That is forever in my head.  Even my best gal was chuckling.

I’ve been a Coen guy since ‘Blood Simple’.  They have a pretty good batting average with me.  T – Bone Burnett puts together a great soundtrack and any time I hear ‘You are My Sunshine’ I’m in a good mood.  Put on your overalls and go for a good laugh with “The Soggy Bottom Boys”.  CB is a card carrying “Soggy Bottom Boy”
