‘Oh Well’ was one of those songs that popped up on the radio when CB was a kid and just sounded great. Plus it was a little (a lot) different from most of what the radio was playing.
The song starts out with a great guitar riff then is joined by another guitar. The music stops and Peter Green lays down some cool vocals. Music cuts back in and the boys go to town with a jam, more of a guitar attack. They do this a couple of times.
Green and Danny Kirwin provide the great guitar work. John McVie on Bass and Mick Fleetwood supplies the drums and sprinkles in some cowbell.
This is just one really cool song. It caught CB’s ear. It still gets him jacked today. A hard rock gem. The original Fleetwood Mac were a special band and they cut ‘Oh Well’ just to prove it. Love this kind of music.
Another press repeat and play it again CB fave!
( You can find lots of great versions by the band, studio and live. All good)
I know we’ve talked about this over on my planet, CB. Not only a great song but a great blues band. Can’t go wrong. Sad thing is a lot of Mac fans don’t even know this version of the band. Good news is when the current (are they still together?) Mac plays live, they often still do this tune.

Dr. Jim, you know it man. CB tries to keep it on track with music he digs. This version of ‘Mac’ was his style big time. I pulled a little trick from your bag (by accident) and found two killer versions by Petty and the Heart-breakers and Page and the Crows. I love this stuff!

I’ve heard the Page/Crowes version. Good stuff.

An all-timer for me too. I love the cover art on it too, it’s just so right.

I know you like that heavy stuff. Catchgroove nails it with “rock swagger”. You got me digging the old covers and jackets. There is something about that cover art. No bullshit.

Thanks CB.
The Peter Green Mac one of the greatest 60s bands with PG hard to top as THE guitarist.

Man what a great band! They still sound good. Could’t agree with you more. Thanks for the input. (Thought we had discussed PG before and we have on one of your previous takes.)

A Fine Peter Green masterpiece that gets plenty of play on my ITunes. Great choice CB

Figured it would be your style. We discussed Green and the original ‘Mac’ on one of your posts. Nothing against the band that carried the name forward but this is the version that does it for CB. I think there are some like minded folk

CB, I’m with you on the Peter Green version being THE version. But if we accept that they eventually pretty much gave up on the blues, I confess I like the Buckingham/Nicks version of the band quite a bit. All fine players and Buckingham is a great guitarist as well.

I was just over at your place. No problem with the other line up I just drifted away. I think ‘Bare Trees’ was the last album I bought. But it was this version of the band that grabbed CB big time.

Can’t argue with that! My only qualm about the later version of the band is that other than us veterans, Green’s band is almost forgotten. Even ‘Black Magic Woman’ is associated with Carlos. A lot of people just never go back to the sources of stuff. I know a lot of people who think ‘The Man Who Sold the World’ is a Nirvana song.

Rock n Roll is paved with those kinds of stories. So you and I will carry the torch for these kinds of great tunes (and bands). The title of the song kind of fits.

Post even got better for me. 10 minutes after reading “Oh Well” I was cooking dinner and ITunes was reading my mind. The second tune played was “Oh Well” Sweet!!
