“OOOOO down the road we go…”

Cosmo’s Factory was the fist CCR LP Cincinnati Babyhead listened to.  He had heard some of their tunes on the radio and liked their sound.

‘Ramble Tamble’ is the first cut and CB recognizes the style.  Perfect title.  That voice, guitar and back beat was their sound.  Rockabilly, rock n roll with a jam in the middle.  It got CB moving.  Good opening cut.

Cut two is a country blues rock song.  That sound again.  ‘Travelin’ Band’sent babyhead into orbit.  One of his fave rockers.  Really got him moving and dancing around like a hillbilly.  He played this one over and over.  ‘Ooby Dooby’is more rockabilly.  ‘Lookin’Out My Back Door’.  Love this song.  ‘Run Through the Jungle’.  A little swamp, jungle music.  This is CCR’s sound.  Great American music.

‘Up Around the Bend’ opens side two with some great guitar.  Love Fogerty’s voice, lyrics and guitar playing here.  ‘My Baby Left Me’ another rockabilly done CCR style.

‘Who’ll Stop the Rain’.  Great song.  CB was hearing all these great tunes for the first time.

‘Grapevine’ is one of Babyhead’s favorite CCR ‘s covers that they do.. It was made for them.  Fogerty really sings it and rips on guitar. Really dig his style.  He was hooked into this one for the eleven minute ride. “I’m just about to lose my mind…”.  Great tune.

‘Long As I can see the Light’ ends the record.  Fogerty just writes good songs.  His voice on this is great.  He’s feeling it.  Then they add sax and blow Babyheads mind.  Man o man.  What a great tune.  CCR classic.

CB was lucky to hear this album at a young age.  CCR opened up more music for him and turned him onto some more styles.  He just liked what he heard.  He really liked these guys.  A great rock n roll band.  It was a no brainer to check out more music by these guys.  Couldn’t stay away, he was hooked.

Add this ramble tamble sound to your collection  ‘Cosmo’s Factory’ is a great LP.  They put music like this on the radio for people like Cincinnati Babyhead.  Try getting some of these tunes out of your head.  I double dog dare you.

“Listen’ to Buck Owens..do do do looking out my back door”

It’s pretty high in my world that’s for sure. Stands the test of time. You went back into the CB vaults. Yeah these are all albums that I have spent a lot of time with and that have shaped my musical tastes.

It came up as a link on your Fortunate Son post. I was interested, as I’ve just been going though the CCR discography.
